Introduction of “The Sun” (L-3464)
Chapter “SHAMS” – (The Sun) - 91
With regard to order, this is Ninety-First Chapter of Holy Qur’an. It was revealed in Makkah along with the first Chapter. In the previous Chapter, the principles of citizen life were caused the mankind to understand. In this Chapter, way of self-correction is being explained, because no one must be careless from arranging own life. It has been described in this Chapter: The management of the world has been established on it that opposite things of one another have been produced in it. Hot light of the sun and cold light of the moon, brightness of the day and darkness of the night, the sky at height and the earth beneath the feet, world’s heat and coolness, brightness and darkness, sample of heights and depths exist into the mankind himself. Capability of righteous and wrong has been kept into himself. If he will incline toward good works, will be successful in the life, and if he will turn toward the wicked deeds; will be destroyed and ruined.
Behold the circumstances of the folk of Thamud: They
turned toward evil deeds. One unlucky man from them hamstrung the she-camel,
which was sent by Allaah Almighty. So He destroyed the entire folk,
because He has Divine Power and He does not fear the consequences of His works.
It has been described in this Chapter also: As Allaah Almighty has made
sun, moon, day, night and the earth for apparent management of the universe,
like this He made arrangement of mankind’s guidance also. Body of the mankind
has relationship with apparent world. So he will reap advantage from such
things which have been created for the management of the apparent world, as sun
and moon etc. but one more thing exists into him which is called “soul or
spirit”. Being involved in apparent worldly things is base of destruction for
him. Therefore, a separate arrangement has been made for his guidance. Like the
sun of the world, there is another internal sun, that is, the Messenger of Allaah
Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). After him, there are
his companions (May Allaah be pleased with them) and the scholars of the
religion Islam, who are like the moon. As the moon takes light from the sun and
spreads it everywhere, like this companions (May Allaah be pleased with
them) and the scholars of the religion get light of guidance from the Messenger
(grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and spread it in the world.
Like this, there has been running internally a spiritual system too like the
apparent system, by which the mankind himself can know his goodness; separate
from the badness. Accordingly the mankind has been empowered to choose for
himself goodness or is entangled in the badness. So we see a group of human
beings separate from the other. But bear it in mind! The consequence of that
person would be worse who chose the wicked deeds intentionally or carelessly,
as the people of the folk of Thamud suffered.
