Lesson from “The City” (L-3463)

Chapter BALAD” – (The City) - 90

If someone desires to know that what the responsibilities of a citizen are, he should recite this Chapter with consideration and use his sense properly, then he will come to know thoroughly. Muhammad, the last Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is a citizen of Makkah Township. The people of Makkah have gripped up their loins to misbehave with him so much that after hearing their circumstances, the hairs stand on their end.

In this Chapter, it has been described to the mankind: Making Townships and living into them is natural requirement of the mankind, because human beings marry and the children begin to be born, and then the population increases naturally. First principle of living altogether mutually with one another is that every mankind must understand that they have not been produced for remaining unemployed in the economic field of life. Everyone should try and work hard so much as one can for acquiring necessities of life for himself and for the members of his family. Accordingly, mental and physical strengths of entire people are not equal, so result of everyone’s efforts will be different. Brains of some people think fast, some are those whose hands and feet work quickly, and some of them will become rich by a little effort, whereas some people will be those who will work hard but earn less than enough.

Anyhow every individual should think, whether he is rich or poor, that he also is under the Control of Such Who has created this entire universe. The rich does not have power to spend his wealth according to own will and enjoy his life, cause others to long for food and eat himself bellyful, spend in marriages unnecessarily and cause to construct high buildings as he desires. Remember! The Lord of the Worlds, Allaah Almighty has been observing everyone’s every deed. Does the mankind not know his Creator? He is Who decorated eyes, tongue and lips on his face, bestowed sense to him for recognising the Right and the Wrong.

O mankind, listen the way of controlling your desires and spending your wealth. The person who has become slave of someone else or is entangled in any misfortune, you must spend your wealth for deliverance of the slave and removing his affliction, provide food to orphans and poor people in the times of famine and help them in difficulties, believe in Allaah Almighty and teach good manners to the people, and that they should not be confused but be patient in troubles and support one another mutually with kindness. Those who abode by these principles, they really are lucky and it will be better for them in both worlds. But those who consider that verses of Holy Qur’an are lies; they in fact are unlucky and villainous. Even they will know in this world too that they were entirely at wrong. Then after death, when they will be brought back to life again, they will be thrown into the flames of the Fire as a punishment. The Fire will be all around of them in the Hell, doors and windows of which will be closed.
