Commentary

After settlement of a drop (of seed) in the womb of mother, it is changed into different forms slowly and gradually. Adam (peace be upon him) also went through all such stages of creation, but not in the womb of mother, rather in a particular safe lodging of the universe. After that, lineage of the mankind’s creation was established in this manner that which food will he take, by it; semen will be produced into him. Then a drop of that semen will go into the womb of mother, where its form will be changed as a clot after some days. Then the clot will become a little lump. After some period, a skeleton of bones will be prepared from a little lump. Then those bones will be clothed with flesh. After this process, the body of the mankind will be ready and the soul will be put into this body. Process of changing different forms takes time and it becomes a full human being. Then it is born from the womb of the mother. With effect from childhood to old age, it changes its many forms. These entire progresses and changes are made by the power and command of Allaah almighty without partnership of any other.

It is not known that how much time Adam (peace be upon him) took for completion of all above mentioned stages. Allaah Almighty knows everything. However nowadays, minimum time for completion of above mentioned stages in the womb of mother is six months, and maximum period according to sayings of some people is four years.

After birth from the womb of mother, the infant increases till a particular period, and then his fall time begins, even that his age in this life comes to an end. Allaah Almighty has established these all stages of mankind’s creation and life by His knowledge and omnipotence, and He is Who causes to pass every human being from these stages. Therefore, He deserves all praises. There is no one who may make such plans save Him and may create any thing as He creates.

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

12.  And verily We created man from a product of wet earth.

13.  Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging.
12.  Wa  laqad  khalaq-Nal-‘insaana  min-  sulaalatim-min-  tiin.

13.  Summa  ja-‘alNaahu  nutfa-tan-  fii  qaraarim-makiin.

Commentary

Sulaalatan – (a chosen wet product), it is the Subject from the word sallun, which means “to pull, to drag, to draw useful thing from a heap”. Which thing is picked like this, is called sulaalatan.

Allaah Almighty created Adam (peace be upon him) after choosing suitable elements from the entire earth. Now these ingredients are produced into mankind from the food and in the food these ingredients come from the clay. Then those ingredients grow up in the form of semen (a drop of seed) in the womb of mother as it has been described in the verse “qaraarim-makiin” (a safe lodging – womb of a woman).

In the previous verses it was commanded: The doers of good works will prosper if they are Believers. The Belief is to believe in Allaah Almighty, His entire Prophets (peace be upon them) and follow their Sayings. Without it; none will prosper on the Day of Resurrection; however the doers of good works will dwell a happy life in this world. But after death, they will not be able to proceed into the Gardens without Belief. In these verses, it is being described that having Belief in Allaah Almighty is very easy. If the mankind reflect in own creation, he will comprehend Allaah Almighty.

It is commanded: It is the Work of Allaah Almighty that He created the mankind after choosing suitable elements from the earth. For Adam (peace be upon him), He picked up directly those elements from the clay and collected them in a safe place. Then from them; He created Adam (peace be upon him). After that these elements are gotten from the food of the mankind which is produced from the earth. Then these elements are changed in the form of a drop of seed (semen). This drop of seed is settled in the womb of the mother. And in that safe place it grows up. Then after changing in some different forms, it becomes a living mankind and comes out from the womb of the mother. Detail of these forms will be discussed in next lessons. After birth, which means were provided to the mankind for dwelling in the world, were also provided by Allaah Almighty. There is no other than Him who may produce the mankind and actual sources of his living.

Hear the verses of Qur’an attentively

Chapter Mu’-minuun” – (The Believers) - 23

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

They heard the verses of Holy Qur’an attentively and accepted immediately that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is Messenger of Allaah Almighty. And then whatsoever he said, they bore in mind and underwent all calamities. By this means they got so much strength that the entire rebellious people of the world bent down before them. At first; they defeated the refractory people of Makkah in the Battle of Badr and then conquered the entire Arab. After that they moved out and finished those great and powerful empires of the world which had been doing wrong and oppressing the creation of Allaah Almighty in various ways. The people of the world drew in breathe of satisfaction. Entire people considered them their saviors and welcomed them cordially. There is no doubt in it that they proved themselves as it was in the beginning.

Let us discuss now about that conduct and behavior which was taught by Allaah’s Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and Holy Qur’an. At first it was described to them that they should believe in Allaah Almighty and have faith that there is no other Patron or Protecting Friend of them save Him. They should be hopeful of His favor, fear His wrath, and should not care about anyone. None can harm you if Allaah Almighty is pleased with you. Then it was commanded: You should establish worship, be humble before Allaah Almighty by having His fear in your hearts and bowing before Him. After that it was commanded: Many matters in the world are vain and absurd, you should shun from them and try to escape from the people who have been involved in such matters.

Then it was commanded: The people from you who are rich, they should pay the poor-due from their wealth to the needy and helpless people.

After that it was commanded: They should guard their modesty, control their lustful and sexual desires, should not become brute or devil. They should keep their mutual matters correct, bear in mind their trusts and covenants. By this their entire matters will become proper.

Then timings of prayers were fixed and they were instructed that they should pay heed to their prayers. So they began to act upon these instructions physically, heartily and by sacrificing everything of theirs. Therefore, they got success in the world, as well as they deserved the Paradise in the Hereafter too. Slowly and gradually Islam became perfect. Everything like - Farz (compulsory), Wajib (obligatory), Mustahab (preferable), Makruh (disgusting) and Haraam (forbidden) have become obvious. But later on, it is not known that why the Muslims gave up actual matters and began to choose the matters of others than in Islam. So it is the reason that they are in worse condition.

Commentary

It is the attribute of the believers that they keep their trusts, abide by their covenants and pay heed to their prayers (establish worship) at their fixed times. These are such people who will succeed, and after death they will be the heirs of the Paradise; not only for some time but for always. They will abide and dwell therein. None ever will snatch this Abode from them.

In these verses, summary of Islam has been described and it has been promised with the followers of Islam that certainly they will be successful. Therefore, within a few days, they succeeded in this world. Nobody could think at that time that only a handful people, who were compelled by oppressors of Makkah to leave their native land, after reaching Madinah; they will become so much powerful.

They did nothing save it that they began to follow the Sayings of the Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) wholeheartedly. Neither any training was given to them in Military Colleges and nor any new skill of fighting was taught to them. Only the Verses of Holy Qur’an were caused to hear them and they were guided to pass their lives according to these instructions.

7.  Famanib-tagaa  waraaa-‘a  zaalika  fa-‘ulaaa-‘ika  humul-‘aaduun.

Commentary

It is commanded: The Believers guard their modesty and fulfill their sexual desires only with their lawful wives or with those bond-maids; to whom they have purchased by spending their wealth. They do not adopt any other means of carnality. There is no reproof on them in fulfilling their carnal desires by above mentioned both sources. But the people who choose any other means except them for fulfilling their carnal appetite, they are transgressors and adulterers. Holy Qur’an guides us concerning the sexual desires that wedding any suitable woman according to religious law is incumbent for fulfillment of these desires. When above mentioned verses were revealed, at that time, buying and selling the bond-maids was a public tradition in society.

After that, the Muslims had to fight their foes and the captives came into their hands, then according to policy of that time, they also were permitted to buy and sell the prisoner women. At last, buying and selling the slaves and bond-maids was stopped by a sound policy gradually and then it did not need to. Now there is no form of fulfilling the sexual desires save lawful marriage in Islam. There are strict conditions for number of marriages, if those conditions can be fulfilled then more but maximum four marriages are lawful.

3.  Wallaziina  hum  ‘anil-lagwi  mu’-rizuun.

4.  Wallaziina  hum  liz-Zakaati  faa-‘iluun.

Commentary

Khaashi-‘uuna – (they are humble, they make themselves submissive), this word is plural of khaashi-‘un, which is the Subject from khasha-‘a. Khashuu-‘un means “to be silent due to fear of Allaah Almighty”.

‘Al-lagwi – (vain conversation, nonsensical talk, absurd), such work or talk in which there is no useful thing.

Mu’-rizuuna – (they shun, avoid, try to escape), this word is from ‘i’-raaz, which has been derived from ‘arz. ‘Arz means “aloof, aside”. ‘I’-raaz means “to withdraw, to keep aloof”.

Islam desires that the mankind should work in such a way that its result should come out good and such deeds should be adopted, by which you all may live in peace and others also may dwell with pleasure and comfort. When this Chapter was revealed, at that time the Muslims were in worse condition in Makkah. Apparently it seemed that opponents would crowd, assault and cut them in pieces. The Muslims were getting ready to move for Madinah by leaving their homes to save themselves. In such frightful condition, it is being proclaimed openly and clearly that the people, who will believe in Allaah Almighty, will at last be successful. They will be honored in the world as well as they will dwell in peace in the life after death for ever, because they did such works during their worldly life which became cause of their success in the both worlds. They make themselves submissive in their prayers, try to escape from nonsensical talk and slip away from those who commit worthless works. They pay the poor-due regularly for the help of needy people.

Quran Chapter 23  Intro (Pt-18, Stg-4) (L-2143) درس قرآن

Intro of twenty third Chapter

Chapter Mu’-minuun” – (The Believers) - 23

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

With regard to order of Holy Qur’an, this is twenty third Chapter. It contains six Sections. Its name is Suratul- Mu’-minuun because this word has been used in its first verse. Moreover, ‘Al-Mu’-minuun means “The Believers”. Attributes, habits and manners of the Believers have been explained in this Chapter. It has been narrated in this chapter that success of the both worlds is for the Believers only.

This Chapter was revealed in Makkah at that time when the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was near to fly for Madinah. In this connection, it is the last Chapter which was revealed in Makkah. It has been commanded to the Believers that they should worship Allaah Almighty and do the works of the world by remaining in the limits fixed by Allaah Almighty. Correct way of offering prayer has been described and the people have been induced that they should produce good manners among themselves. Result of it will be that they will succeed in the both worlds and gain peace in the perpetual life after death for always. For education of the same, Allaah Almighty sent His Prophets (peace be upon them). Summary of those instructions have been recorded in Holy Qur’an, which is the last Scripture for guidance of the mankind. Allaah Almighty revealed this last Scripture unto His last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and finished the lineage of sending Prophets and Messengers. For the worship of Allaah Almighty, knowing Him carefully is necessary. And every intelligent individual can acquire this knowledge from the portents of Allaah Almighty which have been spreading in the entire world. In this connection, Prophets of Allaah Almighty and His Scriptures are compulsory for the help of the mankind’s sense.

In this Chapter, after mentioning concerning Noah, Moses, Aaron and Jesus (peace be upon them), summary of the teachings of Allaah’s Messengers (peace be upon them) has been described. Believers of the Messengers (peace be upon them) acquired higher ranks but their disbelievers were disgraced. After causing to understand the necessity of believing in the Messengers (peace be upon them), it has been explained that having belief in the life after death, reckoning of accounts, punishment and retribution of deeds are compulsory also.

Then it has been described that the mankind, who will not believe in Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), life after death, the accounts, the heaven and the hell, he will grieve after death on the Day of Resurrection. At the end, it has been caused to know the mankind that his life of this world is not a play. He should not spend his time in needless and useless matters, but act upon the commandments of Holy Qur’an considering them true, and pray before Allaah Almighty continuously for His Mercy and Forgiveness.
