Consequence of Infidelity (L-2974)
|
وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُۥ شَيْطَٰنًا فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِينٌ
36
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ
37
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَنَا قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرِينُ 38 |

36. Wa many-ya'-shu 'an zikrir-Rahmaani nuqaiyyiz lahuu Shaytaanan- fahuwa lahuu qariin. 37. Wa ‘innahum la- yasud-duu-nahum 'anis-sabiili wa yahsabuuna ‘annahum-muhtaduun. 38.
Hattaaa ‘izaa jaaa-'anaa
qaala yaa-layta baynii
wa baynaka bu'-dal- mashri-qayni fabi'-sal-qariin. |

Whoever shuns the remembrance of the Most Gracious, We assign for him a
devil, to be his companion. 37.
They hinder them from the path, though they think they are guided. 38. Until, when he comes to Us, he will say, “If only there were
between me and you the distance of the two Easts.” What an evil companion! |
It is commanded: Considering that only this world is everything and closing eyes from the side of God Almighty - is the root of error. Due to its adversity, the Devil and the men like devils surround the mankind from all around; who follow him always and do not let him live alone. Droll thing is it that those devils stop him entirely from the Straight Path, but he deems that he is on the Right Path. He does not listen to his well-wishers. He thinks that his works and thought are correct; but his advisers are foolish.
Having hope of such person’s guidance is useless. He will never understand in this life. However, when he will be present in the Court of God Almighty on the Day of Resurrection, then his eyes will be opened and he will see that those who were his companions in the world; were special disciples of the Devil. Then he will say: Alas! Would that there had been distance between me and them, like the distance between the east and west.
