Chapter “DUKHAAN” - (SMOKE) – 44

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

حمٓ 1   وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ 2   إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ 3   فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ 4   أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ 5   رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ 6   رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ 7   لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ 8

1.  Haa. Miiim. 2.  Wal-Kitaabil- Mubiin. 3.  ‘Innaaa  ‘anzalNaahu  fii laylatim-mubaarakatin  ‘innaa  kunnaa  munziriin. 4.  Fiihaa  yufraqu  kullu  ‘amrin  hakim. 5.  ‘Amram-min 'indiNaaa. ‘Innaa  kunnaa  mursiliin. 6.  Rahmatam-mir-Rabbik.  ‘Innahuu  Huwas-Samii-'ul-'Aliim. 7.  Rabbis-samaawaati  wal-‘arzi  wa  maa  baynahumaa.  ‘in  kuntum-muuqiniin. 8.  Laaa  ‘ilaaha  ‘illaa  Huwa  yuhyii   wa  yumiit.  Rabbukum  wa Rabbu  ‘aabaaa-'ikumul-‘awwaliin.

1. Ha, Meem. 2. By the Enlightening Scripture. 3. We have revealed it on a Blessed Night—We have warned. 4. In it is distinguished every wise command. 5. A decree from Us. We have been sending messages. 6. As mercy from your Lord. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 7. Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you know for sure. 8. There is no god but He. He gives life and causes death—your Lord and Lord of your ancestors of old.

Laylatim-mubaarakatin – (a blessed night), commentators describe that this is fifteenth night of eighth Lunar month “Sha’-baan”. Works of the entire year are disposed of on this night and God Almighty commands concerning way of their commission.

It is commanded: Decision of revealing the Qur’an was made on the blessed night (15^th Sha’-baan – Laylatul- Bar-’at) and was commanded that it would be descended from the heaven to the sky of the world on twenty seventh night of the ninth lunar month “(27^th Ramzaan – Laylatul-Qadr)”. And then it must be sent down to Muhammad, the last Messenger of God Almighty (ﷺ) in process of time. Accordingly, with effect from the same night of Ramzaan, which was decided, Holy Qur’an was begun to descend. Its full descent took nearly twenty two years, two months and twenty two days.

It is commanded: God Almighty, Who is your Lord O Muhammad (ﷺ), and Who appointed and sent you as Own Messenger by His Mercy, because it was compulsory to inform the mankind about the Truth and warn them from the nature of the consequence of wicked deeds. Your Lord is the Same Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever exists in between them. He hears of all and is Aware of entire circumstances. If you believe in it; you will get success. There is no one worthy of worship except Him. Giving life and death is in His Power. As He is your Lord, like this He is the Lord of your forefathers too who passed away. Therefore, you must incline to Holy Qur’an.
