9. Yet
they play around in doubt. 10. So
watch out for the Day when the sky produces a visible smoke. 11.
Enveloping mankind; this is a painful punishment. 12.
“Our Lord, lift the torment from us, we are believers.” 13. But
how can they be reminded? An enlightening messenger has already come to them. 14. But
they turned away from him, and said, “Educated, but crazy!” 15.
We will ease the punishment a little, but you will revert. |
It is commanded: The people put off carelessly after hearing these Epithets of God Almighty. Some of them are those who are entangled in doubts and who think something, actually they do not desire to believe in Him. Moreover, being involved in fairs and games etc. they do not pay full attention towards useful matters and say: We would have to give up our pomp and show if we believed in Allaah; One God. And our entire jollities will disappear.
After that, it is commanded: Human beings have been involved in negligence. They will startle at that time when the Day of Disasters will come, when dust will spread everywhere and smoke will surround the people; which will be very painful doom, the people will cry in confusion and say: O Lord! Remove this doom from us, we believe.
That smoke will spread everywhere when the last Day will be near to come. It has also been recorded that big famine occurred in Makkah due to imprecation of the Messenger (ﷺ), and due to hunger; the people were feeling dimness. It is commanded: They say so being entangled in afflictions; otherwise they do not learn a lesson. When Our Messenger (ﷺ) caused them to understand clearly, then they said: He is taught, does not have own sense. If We will remove the torment for a little, they will return to disbelief. https://youtu.be/xMTOZWn-TpM
