16. We
gave the Children of Israel the Book, and wisdom, and prophecy; and We
provided them with the good things; and We gave them advantage over all other
people. 17.
And We gave them precise rulings. They fell into dispute only after knowledge
came to them, out of mutual rivalry. Your Lord will judge between them on the
Day of Resurrection regarding the things they differed about. |
‘Amr – (Commandment), that is to say, bidding for some things and forbidding from some things. Collection of such commandments is called “Religion” (Way of living in the world).
It is commanded: Portents of the Divine Power of God Almighty have been spreading everywhere in the world. Notwithstanding, many are such people who do not believe in Him, but some of them deny openly. They must listen to it carefully that their End will not be good. They must get advice from the circumstances of the Children of Israel. We gave them Scripture Torah, bestowed sovereignty and sent many Prophets (Peace be upon them) among them for their guidance, bestowed pure and clean food and water, preferred them over the people of the entire world, and described them clearly concerning the best way of living. They could arrange their world and Hereafter if they wished, and lead others too towards the right path, but they were involved in the love of the world and began to dispute with one another mutually. Every one of them thought personal superiority over others. They were divided in many classes. At last they lost themselves and collected the doom of the Doomsday.
It is commanded: We shall judge their entire disputes on the Day of Resurrection and their eyes will be opened. https://youtu.be/DTIu0xQPxRY
