11. Leave
Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 12. And
then bestowed upon him ample means, 13. And
sons abiding in his presence 14. And
made (life) smooth for him. 15. Yet
he desires that I should give more. 16. Nay!
For lo! He has been stubborn to Our revelations. 17. On
him I shall impose a fearful doom. 18. For
lo! he did consider; then he planned - 19. (Self-)
destroyed is he, how he planned! 20. Again
(self-) destroyed is he, how he planned! - 21. Then
looked he, |
There was a very rich man in Makkah; named Walid bin Mughirah. He had nearly ten sons, who used to dwell always at home; attend every assembly and increase the reputation of their father. He was a poet also and well aware of Arabic language. He was very impressed after hearing Qur’an from the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and was near to embrace Islam. Meanwhile Abu Jahal along with some other disbelievers met him and said: Why are you going to defame your forefathers? Will you be seen good after following a boy while you are a great man? After hearing this he began to think. After thinking he manifested his opinion for pleasing the disbelievers: This Word is enchantment (Let us flee to God) which has been imitated from ancient great sorcerers. When he heard about the blessings of the Paradise for the believers, he said: As I have everything in the world, I will have everything in the Hereafter too.
In these verses, it is commanded: When I produced him he was
alone and had nothing. I bestowed him wealth, property, sons, authority and
honour. He claims that after death, he will also have everything in the next
life. His thought is false. He got ready to oppose My Revelations after
hearing. I shall impose a fearful Doom on him because he established an opinion
concerning Our Verses after careful thought. Then he saw towards the people
before him who were waiting for his decision.
