Useful matters (L-3392)

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًا 6  وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا 7  وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا 8  وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا 9  وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا 10  وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا 11  وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا 12  وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا 13

6.  ‘A-lam  Naj-'alil-‘arza  mihaadaa. 7.  Wal-jibaala  ‘aw taadaa. 8.  Wa  khalaqNaakum  ‘azwaajaa. 9.  Waja-'alNaa  nawmakum  subaataa. 10.  Waja-'alNallayla  libaasaa. 11.  Waja'-alNan-nahaaraa  ma-'aashaa. 12.  Wa  banayNaa  fawqakum  sab-'an  shidaadaa. 13.  Waja-'alNaa  Siraajanw-wah-haajaa.

6. Have We not made the earth an expanse, 7. And the high hills bulwarks? 8. And We have created you in pairs, 9. And have appointed your sleep for repose, 10. And have appointed the night as a cloak, 11. And have appointed the day for livelihood. 12. And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 13. And have appointed a dazzling lamp,

In the previous verses it was commanded: These people began to think and inquire into the Day of Resurrection after hearing its name, whereas their senses are unable to understand about its reality. Therefore, they had to believe in that which Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) had described to them concerning the Day of Resurrection because he was informed by means of the Divine Revelation, and that - so much knowledge about Unseen was sufficient for understanding; on which the base of the life of this world might be established, and so much knowledge could be acquired from Holy Qur’an. No one must argue after it concerning the Day of Resurrection. Behold the Omnipotence of Allaah Almighty now in the world! He spread broad and wide land like a floor for you, in which He fixed mountains like pegs for strengthening the sandy and dusty surface of the earth. He created the mankind also from the dust and made your pairs - male and female. Like this He made pairs of everything so that those may fulfil the deficiencies of one another. Then He made the night to sleep, a source of rest and peace, darkness of which spreads over and covers everything like a veil. He determined the day for working, made heavens over head which do not have any crack or hole, created the sun for providing light and heat which has been shining like a torch. All such are the Signs of the Divine Power of Allaah Almighty.
