What has happened with the people? (L-3365)

فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ 49 كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ 50 فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍۭ 51 بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً 52 كَلَّا بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ 53 كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌ 54 فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ 55 وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ 56

49. Famaa
lahum 'anit-tazkirati mu'-riziin.
50. Ka-‘annahum
humurum-mustanfirah.
51. Farrat
min- qaswarah.
52. Bal
yuriidu
kullum-ri-'im-minhum
‘any-yu'-taa suhufam- munash-sharah.
53. Kallaa.
Bal-laa
yakhaa-fuunal-‘Aakhirah.
54. Kallaaa
‘innahuu tazkirah.
55. Faman-shaaa-'a zakarah.
56. Wa
maa yazkuruuna ‘illaaa
‘any-yashaaa-'Allaah. Huwa ‘Ahlut-Taqwaa wa
‘Ahlul-Magfirah. (Part Three-Fourth) (Section

49. Why
now turn they away from the Admonishment,
50. As
they were frightened asses
51. Fleeing
from a lion?
52. Nay,
but everyone of them desires that he should be given open pages (from Allah).
53. Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter.
54. Nay, verily. Lo! This is an Admonishment.
55. So whosoever will may heed.
56. And they will not heed unless Allah wills (it). He is
the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy.

It is commanded: These people do not wish to hear the verses of
Holy Qur’an; but run away after hearing the Word of Allaah
Almighty; as wild asses gallop after hearing the roar of any lion or noise of
hunters. The matter is it that every individual from them desires to be a
Messenger and that the Scriptures must be revealed to him or at least the
Command of Allaah Almighty must come to him directly that he should
believe in the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). They
do not fear the seizure of the Day of Judgement. Even they do not believe in the
Day of Resurrection.
O People! Give up such nonsense. The
Holy Qur`an is a reminder, guidance and advice for every mankind. What
if it has been revealed on One? Whoever wills; must obey its commandments and
reap advantage. But only they will accept it to whom Allaah Almighty
wills and guides. Only He is Worthy of fear and Adequate for granting
forgiveness.
