Introduction of “The Rising of the Dead” (L-3367)
According to order, this is seventy-fifth Chapter of Holy Qur’an. It was revealed during primary days of stay at Makkah. In this Chapter, “Self” responsibilities of the mankind, reward and punishment of deeds on the Day of Resurrection have been described in such a particular way which cannot be seen anywhere except Qur’an. The aim from the word “Self” is “mind, life, soul, spirit and individual etc.” Actually this is “Mankind”, which has been covered by the body. The soul is in the body, which contains three real attributes – sense, desire and disgust”. Every movement and work of the mankind depends on these attributes:
نفس امّارہ – (Stubborn Soul) If sense of the mankind is overpowered by desire and disgust, that will become “Inordinate Appetite”, which misleads the mankind to commit sins.
نفس لوّامہ – (The Accusing Soul) If sometimes the sense is powerful and sometimes desire and disgust overcome upon it, that will become “the accusing soul”, which reproves on evil deeds when it finds opportunity.
نَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّة – (The Secure Soul): When the sense works correctly, desire and disgust work according to its judgement, then it becomes Self-Satisfaction (in the remembrance and obedience of Allaah Almighty). Betterment of the mankind can be hoped till the time his sense rebukes him on sins. The advice affects to such kind of person and gradually he begins to avoid committing wrong deeds and gets satisfaction of the heart
There is an indication in this Chapter that due to fear of the Day of Judgement, the accusing soul performs its work sharply. Therefore, it is being explained for the same that the mankind will be brought back to life again after death, he will be punished due to his worldly wrong deeds and it will happen on the Day of Resurrection, which shall certainly come. The mankind should not have any doubt in it.
On that Day, sun and moon will not be able to provide light, and before the Light of Allaah Almighty; the eyes will be dazzled. The mankind runs away in the world from the concept of the Day of Resurrection, because this conception interrupts in the delight of his worldly life. But after death, there will be none who may provide him refuge except Allaah Almighty. The mankind forgets own Creator and the Day of Reckoning due to being entangled in personal desires, otherwise keeping the Lord and the Doomsday in mind is not so much difficult if he use his sense, because the person who will understand, will incline to Holy Qur’an. The Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has delivered the Qur’an to human beings as it was revealed; and explained its commandments by acting himself upon them practically. This Qur’an causes the mankind to understand: Righteous slaves of Allaah Almighty will see Him by their eyes on the Day of Resurrection, by which their hearts will rejoice greatly.
The evildoers will be disappointed and their countenances will
be seen hopeless. This Chapter reminds the time of death to the mankind; when
everyone will be entangled in the agonies of death and at last depart from the
world. There will be no one who may save him. Then the mankind has been
reproached due to his carelessness: You must not consider that your deeds will
not be checked. Surely your entire good and bad deeds will be separated, reward
will be given to you on good deeds and you will be punished due to your evil
deeds.
