Correct time of the Day of Resurrection (L-3406)

فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ 43  إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ 44  إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا 45  كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا 46

43.  Fiima  ‘anta  min- zikraahaa. 44.  ‘Ilaa  Rabbika  Munta-haahaa. 45.  ‘Innamaaa  ‘anta  munziru  many-yakshaahaa. 46.  Ka-‘annahum  Yawma yaraw-nahaa  lam  yalbasuuu  ‘illaa  'ashiyyatan  ‘aw  zuhaahaa.  (Section 2/4)

43. Why (ask they)? What have you to tell thereof? 44. Unto your Lord belongs (knowledge of) the term thereof. 45. You are but a warner unto him who fears it. 46. On the day when they behold it, it will be as if they had but tarried for an evening or the morn thereof.

It is commanded: They ask from you {O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} about the correct time of arrival of the Day of Resurrection, whereas you do not have any connection with such matters. Only Allaah Almighty knows that when the Hour will come. Telling about correct time of the arrival of the Day of Resurrection is not your duty. You have come to inform those people who believe in the Day of Resurrection and who fear from that Day’s severity that the Day of Resurrection will be the Day of troubles and calamities. The person who desires to escape from difficulties and afflictions of that Day, it is incumbent on him that he should believe in Allaah Almighty, obey the Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and act upon the Commandments of Holy Qur’an, otherwise the people who do not believe in the Day of Resurrection, consider that this world is everything and say carelessly that the Day of Resurrection will never come, suppose if it happened, it will come after a long time, so there is no need to be frightened from it. When such people will see the Day of Resurrection they will say: Alas! Why has it come so immediately? We had lived so far in the world only one evening or one morning. Why has it finished the life so quickly?
