Neither of here nor of there (L-3214)
|
مَّا هُم مِّنكُمْ وَلَا مِنْهُمْ وَيَحْلِفُونَ عَلَى ٱلْكَذِبِ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ 14b أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ 15 ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ 16 لَّن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـٔ17a

14b. Maa
hum-minkum wa laa
min-hum, wa yahlifuuna
'alal-kazibi wa hum
ya'-lamuun.
15. ‘A-'addAllaahu lahum
'azaaban shadiidaa. ‘Innahum
saaa-'a maa kaanuu
ya'-maluun.
16. ‘Ittakhazuuu ‘aymaanahum
junnatan fasadduu 'an-
SabiiLillaahi falahum 'Azaabum-muhiin.
17a. Lan-
tugniya 'anhum ‘am-waaluhum wa
laaa ‘aw-laadu-hum minAllaahi
shat-'aa.

14b. They are neither of you nor of them, and
they swear a false oath knowingly.
15. Allah has prepared for them a dreadful doom. Evil
indeed is that which they are wont to do.
16. They make a shelter of their oaths and turn (men)
from the way of Allah; so theirs will be a shameful doom.
17a. Their wealth and their children will avail them
naught against Allah.

It is commanded: These hypocrites are neither Muslims and nor
Jews, because they are neither of you nor of
them. They swear a false oath before Muslims that they also are Muslims; while
they know that they are lying, whereas heartily they are enemies of the
Muslims. Allaah Almighty has prepared for them a severe punishment.
Indeed, it was evil which the hypocrites were
doing. They took their false oaths as a cover, because when the Muslims desired
to punish them, they swore that they were Muslims; and escaped from punishment.
On the other side they avert people from the
prescribed way of Allaah Almighty behind the screen of Islam. On it for
them is a humiliating punishment. Then never will their wealth or their
children avail them against Allaah at all. However, perhaps such things
can be useful for them only for a few days’ life of this world.
