The Way of Abraham (L-3238)

3. Your
ties of kindred and your children will avail you naught upon the Day of
Resurrection. He will part you. Allah is Seer of what you do. 4a. There
is a goodly pattern for you in Abraham and those with him, when they told
their folk: Lo! We are guiltless of you and all that you worship beside
Allah. We have done with you. |
Since Hatib bin Balta’h made this excuse in his defense, “My wife and children have been living among the Qureish of Makkah so far. So I thought that if I shall show them own sympathy, in return they will guard members of my family, and I know that however you will overcome. There will be no loss if I inform them.”
It has been commanded in this verse: Never will your relatives or your children benefit you on the Day of
Resurrection. Allaah Almighty will judge between you. He has been
looking of what you do and it will be decided according to your deeds. They
will be successful who obeyed the Commands of Allaah Almighty for His
pleasure. You must follow the Way of Abraham (peace be upon him) and his
companions in all matters. When he chose Islam as a religion for himself, then
he said to the disbelievers clearly: Indeed, we are disassociated from you and
from whatever you worship other than Allaah. We do not have any relationship
with your gods as well as with you until you adore them.
