The virtues of Helpers (L-3225)

وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ 9b وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِى قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ 10 |

9b. wa yu'-siruuna 'alaaa ‘anfu-sihim wa law kaana bihim khasaasah. Wa many-yuuqa shuh-ha nafsihii fa-‘ulaaa-'ika humul-Muflihuun. 10. Wallaziina
jaaa-'uu mim-ba'-dihim yaquuluuna
Rabbanag-fir-lanaa wa li-‘ikhwaani-nallaziina sabaquunaa
bil-‘Iimaani wa laa
taj-'al fii quluubinaa
gillallillaziina ‘aamanuu Rabbannaaa
‘innaka Ra-‘uufur-Rahiim. (Part

9b.
but prefer (the fugitives) above
themselves though poverty become their lot. And whoso is saved from his own
avarice - such are they who are successful. 10. And
those who came (into the faith) after them say: Our Lord! Forgive us and our
brethren who were before us in the faith, and place not in our hearts any
rancour toward those who believe. Our Lord! You are Full of Pity, Merciful. |
It is commanded: Ansaar (dwellers of Madinah) love the Refugees more than themselves and provide food to them even though they are in privation. They give preference to the requirements of the Refugees over themselves. It is commanded: Whoever is protected from personal desires and the stinginess of his soul, and who can control themselves, it is those who will be the successful. Greedy people do not like to let others prosper.
After that it is commanded: This wealth of the
enemy which is acquired with collective efforts or gotten freely; is a right of
those necessitous until the Hour who came after the above mentioned people and
followed them step by step; and remembered them also at the time of
supplicating for own forgiveness and said: Our Lord! Forgive us and our
brothers who preceded us in faith. O Lord! Put not in our hearts any resentment
toward those who have believed. Our Lord! To err is human but You are Kind and
Merciful. Forgive all of them and us.
