A new Torment (L-3221)
|
وَقَذَفَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعْبَ يُخْرِبُونَ بُيُوتَهُم بِأَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَيْدِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَٱعْتَبِرُوا۟ يَٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ 2b وَلَوْلَآ أَن كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْجَلَآءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَذَابُ ٱلنَّارِ 3 ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَمَن يُشَآقِّ ٱللَّهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ 4 |

2b. wa qazafa fii quluubi-himur-ru’-ba yukhribuuna buyuutahum- bi-‘aydiihim wa ‘aydil-Mu'-miniin. Fa'-tabiruu yaaa-‘ulil-‘absaar. 3. Wa law-laaa ‘an- katabAllaahu 'alayhimul-jalaaa-'a la-'azzabahum fid-dunyaa. Wa lahum fil-‘Aakhirati 'Azaabun-Naar. 4. Zaalika
bi-‘annahum
shaaaq-qUllaaha wa Rasuulah.
Wa many-yushaaaq-Qillaaha fa-‘innAllaaha Shadiidul-'Iqaab. |

2b. and cast terror in their hearts so that
they ruined their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers.
So learn a lesson, O you who have eyes! 3. And
if Allah had not decreed migration for them, He verily would have punished
them in the world, and theirs in the Hereafter is the punishment of the Fire. 4. That
is because they were opposed to Allah and His messenger; and whoso is opposed
to Allah, (for him) verily Allah is stern in reprisal. |
It was commanded in the previous verses that the people of Banu Nazayr were very proud of their manpower strength and war equipment. They had strong fortresses, made a conspiracy with idolaters of Makkah against Muslims, excited the hypocrites of Madinah and they were entirely fearless from the attack of Muslims. But Allaah Almighty has countless sources of defeating to His enemies. He seized them by such calamity which they could not think. The same has been described in this verse.
It is commanded: We cast terror of Muslims into the hearts of the Jews. On one side they were confused very much due to assassination of their leader Ka’b bin Ashraf and on the other side; the Muslims assaulted suddenly upon their fortresses, and they were confounded. They began to pull out their doors and planks etc. so that they might carry their goods as much as they could at the time of deserting. Muslims also helped them in breaking and began to demolish their houses, so that they might not dwell there, because deserting of such treacherous people was better.
There is a lesson for sensible people that
result of treachery and breaking of treaty can never be good. And having trust
in apparent reasons is ignorance. However, banishment was in their fate that
they were saved; otherwise they would have been punished in any other way, as
the people of Banu Qurayzah were slaughtered. But for them in the
Hereafter is the punishment of the Fire. That is because they opposed Allaah
Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).
Bear in mind that Allaah Almighty is Severe in punishment for those who
oppose Him.
