Belief of the Jinn in Qur’an (L-3040)

وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَآ إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنصِتُوا۟ فَلَمَّا قُضِىَ وَلَّوْا۟ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ 29 قَالُوا۟ يَٰقَوْمَنَآ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ 30 |

29. Wa ‘iz sarafNaaa ‘ilayka nafaram-minal-Jinni yastami-'uunal- Qur’aan. Falammaa hazaruuhu qaaluuu ‘ansituu. Falammaa quziya wallaw ‘ilaa qawmihim-munziriin. 30. Qaaluu
yaa- qawma-naaa ‘innaa sami'-naa
Kitaaban ‘unzila mim- ba'-di
Muusa musaddiqal-limaa bayna
yadayhi yahdiii ‘ilal- Haqqi wa
‘ilaa Tariiqim- Mustaqiim. |

29. And
when We inclined toward you (Muhammad) certain of the jinn, who wished to
hear the Qur'an and, when they were in its presence, said: Give ear! And,
when it was finished, turned back to their people, warning. 30. They
said: O our people! Lo! We have heard a scripture which has been revealed
after Moses, confirming that which was before it, guiding unto the truth and
a right road. |
Besides the mankind, another kind of people lives in the world who are called “the Jinn”. As the creation of the mankind is from the clay stained with water, like this creation of the Jinn is from the fire, and they can change their form as they desire. They cannot be seen with eyes in their actual form and hover here and there wherever they desire. Physically they are more powerful than the mankind, so they are more rebellious too than the mankind. Allaah Almighty had made them slaves of Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him) and his obedient.
It is commanded: We directed a
group of the jinn to you, who paid their attention to listen to the Qur`an.
When they attended it, they said to one another, "Be silent and listen
carefully to that what is being recited." When the recitation was over,
they went back to their people and said, "O our people, indeed we have
heard a recited Book, and we frighten you from the consequence of wrong deeds
according to that Book. Torah was the heavenly Book, revealed to Moses (peace
be upon him), which was acceptable for all. Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him)
also taught the Commandments of Torah. Today, we heard a new Book which confirms that what was before it and that all Books
sent by Allaah Almighty were true. This Book (Qur’an) has been
sent now for clarification of the same Path. It guides to the truth.
