Lesson in this Chapter (L-3064)
The people, who disbelieve in Allaah Almighty, their entire good works are useless though those are in abundance. They will not be able to reap any advantage from their good works on the Day of Resurrection. Moreover some of their works will become burden for them even in this world, for example, spending wealth and sacrificing oneself for preventing the people from Islam, although they consider it good works, but in future it will become cause of their destruction.
However, those who will do good works after having belief in Allaah Almighty and determine Holy Qur’an as their Guide Book after admitting that it is True, their world and the Hereafter (both) will become good, their errors will be forgiven and they will be happy. O Muslims! If the disbelievers do not refrain from their wicked deeds and there is no way but to fight, then you must fight bravely and courageously against them continually who spread persecution, until they are finished. Show not your favor for them, because removing the persecutors and mischief from the world is compulsory for establishing peace and order. When they are defeated and the war is over, then arrest the mischievous. Release them in case if there is advisability in releasing them, otherwise take some ransom from them.
Allaah Almighty could destroy the mischievous people by any other way but He desired to examine His slaves. Therefore, He commanded them to fight so that those are bestowed with rewards who are steadfast, and retribution of their sacrifice must be given in the Hereafter who are slain in war. Listen! They will dwell in Paradise which is a place of pleasure, rest and peace. Their entire desires will be fulfilled. The disbelievers must take warning from the circumstances of ancient people who were more powerful than these, but due to punishment of their evil deeds, Allaah Almighty ruined them. While they were not saved, then how can these disbelievers be saved? They would have to confront defeat from those who believe in Allaah Almighty wholeheartedly. Their abode will be Hell on the Day of Resurrection.
There are some people among you who used to claim that they were true Muslims. But when it was commanded that they must fight their enemies, then they began to show their timidity for getting rid of war. Some are hypocrites among the Muslims who are slaves of their wishes and far away from the Straight Path. Their eyes will be opened on the Day of Judgment but then it will be useless. The Day of Reckoning is near to come, signs of which have begun to appear.
O Muslims! Hold fast the cord of “Tawhiid” (believing in
the Unity of the Deity, Oneness of God), pray for forgiveness of yourselves and
all believers, choose the Straight Path of Islam with true heart, obey the
Commands of Allaah Almighty and the Sayings of His Messenger (grace,
glory, blessings and peace be upon him), and pay the poor-due. If you will not
establish Islam, Allaah Almighty will exchange you for some other folk,
and they will not be the likes of you.
