17b. And whoso obeys Allah and His messenger, He
will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turns
back, him will He punish with a painful doom. 18. Allah
was well pleased with the believers when they swore allegiance unto you beneath
the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down peace of
reassurance on them, and had rewarded them with a near victory; 19. And
much booty that they will capture. Allah is ever Mighty, Wise. |
It was commanded earlier: There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). They must do only that what they can do easily.
After that, a general rule is being described for the entire people: Allaah Almighty will admit them in the Gardens of the Paradise underneath which rivers flow, who will obey Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) in every matter and work. And whosoever will turn away from Allaah Almighty – his even good works too will not be useful for him on the Day of Resurrection. Allaah Almighty will punish him with a painful punishment.
Then, belief and truth of those people have
been extolled who made covenant to sacrifice their lives and wealth for the
sake of Allaah Almighty. It is commanded: Certainly Allaah
Almighty was pleased with the believers who pledged allegiance (Bai-‘at
Rizwan) to you, {O Muhammad (grace, glory. Blessings and
peace be upon him)}. Their hearts were sincere.
So He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them immediately with an
imminent conquest of Khyber and war booty, which came in their possession. Your
Lord is ever Exalted in Might, Wise.
