Peace Treaty of Hudaybiyyah took place in strange environment. By observing the impudence of disbelievers and trying to press the Muslims in every way, the courageous Muslims were thinking to punish them severely and were ready to sacrifice their lives by fighting. They were utterly sick of oppressions by disbelievers. But the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) showed patience, considered the “Peace” suitable, accepted every condition of the disbelievers that “Write your name only in the Peace Treaty and do not write Messenger of Allaah along with your name”. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) said: OK. They said: During the Peace Treaty of ten years, if anyone from us go to you; return him back, but we shall not return; if anyone from you comes to us. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) said: OK. They said: Go back to your home town at this time, perform Umrah during next year and bear in mind: None of you will have any weapon.
Apparently it seemed that the Muslims were pressed in the Peace
Treaty. But Allaah Almighty described in this Chapter that the Peace
Treaty was Muslims’ Great Victory. And in fact, with the passage of time, its
advantages began to appear. It has been described in these verses: You worked
with patience in the Peace Treaty. We forgave your entire errors and omissions
as its reward. We shall complete Our favor upon
you and guide you to a Straight Path, and We shall aid you with a Mighty
Victory. Accordingly, the Promise was fulfilled. The people began to embrace
Islam unhesitatingly and it spread all over the Arab. The hearts of the enemies
were overawed. And the Muslims got victory in great battles easily; even there
was none in Arabian Peninsula who might rebel.
