Remove rebellion from the world! (L-3047)

فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَضَرْبَ ٱلرِّقَابِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَثْخَنتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا۟ ٱلْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنًّۢا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَآءً حَتَّىٰ تَضَعَ ٱلْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ذَٰلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ لَٱنتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَا۟ بَعْضَكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَلَن يُضِلَّ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ 4

4.  Fa-‘izaa  laqiitumul-laziina  kafaruu  fazarbar-riqaab.  Hattaaa  ‘izaaa  ‘askhan-tumuuhum  fashuddul-wasaaqa,  fa-‘immaa  mannam- ba'-du  wa  ‘immaa  fidaaa-'an  hattaa  taza-'al-harbu  ‘awzaarahaa.  Zaalika  wa  law  yashaaa-'Ullaahu  lantasara  minhum  wa  laakil-li- yab-luwa  ba'-zakum  biba'-z.  Wallaziina   qutiluu  fii  SabiiLillaahi  falany-yuzilla  ‘a'-maalahum.

4. Now when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when you have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He renders not their actions vain.

It was known from the previous verses that there are two kinds of people in the world – those who admit the truth and the right, and those who choose the wrong path. Circumstances of both of them have been explained in Holy Qur’an and it has been described that condition of those both groups will not be equal. In the world they all will live together. But the righteous and wrongdoers will be separated from one another in the Hereafter. First group will dwell in Paradise, whereas abode of second group will be Hell. It will be done on the Day of Resurrection. But in the world, there is no remedy except it that they should live together.

The believers of the truth do not desire to compel any other, but if the false-lovers try to press the truth down by force, then there will be dispute among them. In such circumstances what the truth-lovers must do. It also has been described that those are truth-lovers who believe in Allaah Almighty, do righteous works and admit that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is their Guide. They are being instructed in these verses: If the believers meet those in battle who disbelieve, they must strike their necks until, when they have inflicted slaughter upon them because it is necessary for establishing Peace. Then the believers must secure their bonds and either confer favor afterwards or ransom them until the war lays down its burdens. That is the Command. And if Allaah willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them Himself, but He ordered armed struggle to test some of them (who claim that they are believers) by means of others. Those who are killed in the cause of Allaah Almighty, for them will be full reward in the life after death – He will never waste their deeds.
