Dream shall come true (L-3079)

لَّقَدْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ رَسُولَهُ ٱلرُّءْيَا بِٱلْحَقِّ لَتَدْخُلُنَّ ٱلْمَسْجِدَ ٱلْحَرَامَ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ءَامِنِينَ مُحَلِّقِينَ رُءُوسَكُمْ وَمُقَصِّرِينَ لَا تَخَافُونَ فَعَلِمَ مَا لَمْ تَعْلَمُوا۟ فَجَعَلَ مِن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ فَتْحًا قَرِيبًا 27 |

27. Laqad
sadaqAllaahu Rasuulahur-
ru'-yaa bil-haqq. Latad-khulunnal-Masjidal-Haraama ‘in
shaaa-'Allaahu ‘aaminiina muhalliqiina ru-'uusakum
wa muqassiriina laa
takhaafuun. Fa-'alima maa
lam ta'-lamuu faja-'ala
min duuni zaalika
fathan- qariibaa. |

27. Allah
has fulfilled the vision for His messenger in very truth. You shall indeed
enter the Inviolable Place of Worship, if Allah will, secure, (having your
hair) shaven and cut, not fearing. But He knows that which you know not, and
has given you a near victory beforehand. |
According to the terms of “the Peace Treaty of Hudaybiyyah”, the Muslims could not perform Umrah (Pilgrimage) in that year. Therefore, after offering a sacrifice in Hudaybiyyah and changing dress from Ihram, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) returned to Madinah along with His Companions (May Allaah be pleased with them). From it, some people thought: He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) saw in a dream that Umrah was performed, then why it was not performed?
The Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)
said to them: it is not necessary that the dream comes true immediately. After
that, these verses were revealed. It was commanded: Certainly that was quite
true whatever Allaah Almighty showed in dream to His Messenger (grace,
glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and it will surely happen. But there
were many of advisabilities in postponing it this year. Allaah knows
what you don’t know. Practical war in Makkah was not suitable.
Therefore, it was reconciled. Now if Allaah please, the dream will come
true after this year and you will surely enter al-Masjid-al-Haraam (the
Inviolable Place of Worship) satisfactorily in
safety, perform Umrah with your heads shaved or hair shortened, without
fearing anyone. Another victory has been determined for you due to stopping
attack on Makkah. You will assault on Khyber and conquer it. Abundant
war booty will come into your hands and then you will take rest at your homes,
and you will begin to reap more advantages of the Peace Treaty of Hudaybiyyah.
