You are nothing before Aad (L-3038)

وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِيمَآ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَأَبْصَٰرًا وَأَفْـِٔدَةً فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَآ أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ وَلَآ أَفْـِٔدَتُهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ إِذْ كَانُوا۟ يَجْحَدُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ 26 |

26. Wa
laqad makkannaahum fiimaaa
‘im-makkannaakum fiihi wa
ja-'alNaa lahum sam-'anw-wa
‘absaaranw-wa ‘af-'idatah; famaaa
‘agNaa 'anhum sam-‘u-hum
wa laaa ‘absaaruhum
wa laaa ‘af-'idatu-hum-min shay-'in
‘iz kaanuu yajhaduuna
bi-‘AayaaTil laahi wa haaqa
bihim-maa kaanuu bihii yastahzi-'uun. (Section
3/3) |

26. And
verily We had empowered them with that wherewith We have not empowered you,
and had assigned them ears and eyes and hearts; but their ears and eyes and
hearts availed them naught since they denied the revelations of Allah; and
what they used to mock befell them. |
‘Af-'idatun – (hearts), this word is plural of fu-‘aad (heart, brain), which takes effect from seen and heard things, and determines the behavior of a mankind according to observation. The people who do neither believe in Allaah Almighty and nor use their senses properly; they will have to undergo results of their misuse.
It is commanded: You must learn from the circumstances of
ancient people. Behold! People of the folk of Aad were very strong. They
had physical strength more than you, helpers, wealth and property etc. so much
that you are not like them. Their eyes, ears and senses were more useful, but
they misused them. They had lost their wits and considered from whatever they
saw that all worldly things were for their enjoyment. Whereas they had to
understand that it was the kindness of Allaah Almighty Who bestowed to
them all such blessings. So they had to be thankful to Him as His slaves. They
did not hear the advice of Prophets (peace be upon them) but involved in
hearing useless songs. Their eyes, ears and hearts used to do wrong. Therefore,
when the Doom of Allaah Almighty came upon them, then these things were
not of their use. And the same torment, concerning which the Prophets of Allaah
Almighty (peace be upon them) used to warn them and they used to ridicule their
sayings after hearing, was sent upon them, and they were entangled in the
punishment.
