Who are the Righteous? (2) (L-3033)

وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَٰلِحًا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِى فِى ذُرِّيَّتِىٓ إِنِّى تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّى مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ 15b  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ فِىٓ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَعْدَ ٱلصِّدْقِ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ 16

15b.  wa  ‘an  ‘a'-mala  saalihan-  tarzaahu  wa  ‘aslih  lii  fii  zurriyyatii.  ‘Innii  tubtu  ‘ilayka  wa  ‘innii  minal-Muslimiin. 16.  ‘Ulaaa-'ikal-laziina  nata-qabbalu  'anhum ‘ahsana  maa  'amiluu  wa  natajaa-wazu  'an-  sayyi-‘aatihim  fiii  ‘As-haabil-Jannah.  Wa'-das-sidqil-lazii  kaanuu  yuu-'aduun.

15b.  and that I may do right acceptable unto You. And be gracious unto me in the matter of my seed. Lo! I have turned unto You repentant, and lo! I am of those who surrender (unto You). 16. Those are they from whom We accept the best of what they do, and overlook their evil deeds. (They are) among the owners of the Garden. This is the true promise which they were promised (in the world).

He prays: O Allaah! Help me in doing such good works which You like, do my children good and make them my obedient in good works. I inclined to You and got ready to obey Your Commandments.

Picture of righteous people has been drawn in this verse. As soon as a righteous mankind regains consciousness, he recognises first of all Allaah Almighty and observes that he and his parents are surrounded by the Kindnesses of Allaah Almighty. He asks Allaah Almighty for the power to give thanks of His Favours, and gets ready to render his parents their due according to the Command of Allaah Almighty, and prays that his children must be good and righteous. And he intends to be His obedient. Moreover, he prays for Divine Guidance to do good works, grips up his loins to pay the rights of Allaah Almighty and His slaves.

After that; it is commanded: Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds. They are among the companions of Paradise. We shall fulfil Our Promise which We made for such people in Holy Qur’an and they will see that Our Promise was true.
