PART TWENTY SEVEN (27)
Actual work of the Angels (L-3116)

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ 31 قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ 32 لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ 33 مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ 34 فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ 35 فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ 36 |

31. QAALA FAMAA KHATBUKUM ‘ayyuhal-Mursaluun. 32. Qaaluuu ‘innaaa ‘ursilnaaa ‘ilaa qawmim-mujrimiin. 33. Linursila 'alayhim hijaa- ratam- min- tiin. 34. Musawwamatan 'inda Rabbika lil-musrifiin. 35. Fa-‘akhrajNaa man- kaana fiihaa minal-Mu'-miniin. 36. Famaa
wajadNaa fiihaa gayra
baytim-minal-Muslimiin. |

31. (Abraham)
said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O you sent (from Allah)? 32. They
said: Lo! We are sent unto a guilty folk, 33. That
we may send upon them stones of clay, 34. Marked
by your Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 35. Then
we brought forth such believers as were there. 36. But
We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). |
Abraham asked from the angels (peace be upon them): Then what is your business here, O messengers? They replied, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals for sending down upon them stones of clay, which are marked in the presence of your Lord for destroying them, because they have transgressed the natural limits which have been determined by Allaah Almighty."
After that it is commanded: We brought out and
saved the members of the family of Lot (peace be upon him), who were believers, when the stones of clay hailed
upon the transgressors of his folk, because there was only one house; in which
the Muslims were dwelling; who used to cause the people of their folk to
understand that they should refrain from sodomy.
