33. The
folk of Lot rejected warnings. 34. Lo!
We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We
rescued in the last watch of the night, 35. As
grace from Us. Thus We reward him who gives thanks. 36. And
he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. 37. They
even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes
(and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! |
It is commanded: The folk of Lot (peace be upon him) also got ready for obstinacy. They denied him and considered that the Warner, sent by Allaah Almighty, was a liar. Allaah Almighty sent upon them a storm of stones for their punishment. Lot (peace be upon him) was informed: Leave your township before dawn along with members of your family. Allaah Almighty favoured and saved them because they were His obedient and thankful slaves. He protects such people from calamities who are grateful to Him.
Lot (peace be upon him) left no stone unturned to warn them, but
they disregarded all threats and began to raise objections in his sayings. They
desired and tried to snatch the guests of Lot (peace be upon him) from him; who
were angels (peace be upon them) in the form of mankind. Allaah Almighty
made them blind and they wandered about. Then the disaster came and seized
them. Their end was the same from which they were frightened.
