Confusion of the opponents (L-3129)

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ 29  أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ 30  قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ 31  أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَٰمُهُم بِهَٰذَآ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ 32  أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ 33

29.  Fazakkir  famaaa  ‘anta  bi-Ni'-mati  Rabbika  bi-kaahininw-wa  laa  majnuun. 30.  ‘Am  yaquuluuna  Shaa'-irun  natarabbasu  bihii  raybal- manuun. 31.  Qul  tarabbasuu  fa-‘innii  ma-'akum-minal- mutarab-bisiin. 32.  ‘Am  ta’-muruhum  ‘ahlaa-muhum-  bihaazaaa  ‘am  hum  qawmun- taaguun. 33.  ‘Am  yaquuluuna  taqaw-walah.  Bal-laa  yu'-minuun.

29. Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah you are neither soothsayer nor madman. 30. Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 31. Say (unto them): Expect (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 32. Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 33. Or say they: He has invented it? Nay, but they will not believe!

It is commanded: These people will continue telling lies in this manner. Sometime they will say to you {O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} Kaahen (a soothsayer – who asks about unseen matters from the Jinn and tells people, because they used to ask about future and the soothsayers used to tell them conjectures. It was their profession) and sometime they will call you a madman. Don’t care them. Carry on informing them concerning good and bad. By the Grace of Allaah Almighty, neither you are a soothsayer and nor a madman. Not known what has happened to them that they name a poet to the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and say that he also will be finished after a few days like other poets with the rotation of time? Say to them: Wait and see what happens in future, for indeed I am among the waiters with you. Do their minds command them to say this which misleads them, or are they a transgressing people? How can it be correct that they say concerning Holy Qur’an that, "He has made it up himself and said that it was sent by Allaah"? It is entirely ignorance. Rather, they have gripped up their loins to disbelieve.
