37. And
We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 38. And
in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear
warrant, 39. But
he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 40. So
We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. |
It is commanded: We ruined that Township but saved its ruins which exist till today, so that those people may learn a lesson by observing them who fear the painful doom. And so that they must not commit such wrong works due to which such calamities come. After that, there is an indication towards the story of Moses (peace be upon him).
It is commanded: In his (peace be upon him) story also, there are Tokens of the Divine Power of Allaah Almighty. We sent Moses (peace be upon him) to Pharaoh for warning that he must give up rebellion and be the slave of Allaah Almighty. But he was very proud of his power and soldiers. He disregarded Moses (peace be upon him) and when he (peace be upon him) showed miracles, Pharaoh said: He is a wizard, trifler or a madman (Let us flee to God). Is there someone greater than me (Pharaoh)?
It is commanded: So We took him and his
soldiers and cast all of them into the sea. He was blameworthy of
transgression, We did not tyrannise him. He himself got ready on
refractoriness.
