What is the reason of refusal? (L-3130)

فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَٰدِقِينَ 34 أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ 35 أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ 36 أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ 37 أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ 38 |

34. Fal-ya’-tuu bi-hadiisim-mis-lihiii ‘in kaanuu Saadiqiin. 35. ‘Am khuliquu min gayri shay-'in ‘am humul- khaaliquun. 36. ‘Am khalaqus-samaawaati wal-‘arz. Bal-laa yuuqinuun. 37. ‘Am 'indahum khazaaa-'inu Rabbika ‘am humul- musay-ti-ruun. 38. ‘Am
lahum sullamuny
yastami-‘uuna fiih. Fal-ya’-ti
mustami-'uhum bi-sultaanim- mubiin. |

34. Then
let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 35. Or
were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 36. Or
did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 37. Or
do they own the treasures of your Lord? Or have they been given charge
(thereof)? 38. Or
have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear
(decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! |
It is commanded: If they consider that really the Holy Qur’an is composed by the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) himself, then they must compose any such book and show because they are experts of their Arabic language. Do they think that they were created by none, or they were the creators of themselves? Have they created the heavens and the earth? If not, then you must understand from it that they have strongly intended to disbelieve. Have they the depositories containing the provision of your Lord? Or have they possessed all such things by force? Or have they a stairway into the heaven upon which they listen as they make up stories of unseen matters? Then let their listener produce a clear authority that truly; these are matters of unseen, which he has listened, otherwise claim without proof is not acceptable by the sense.
