What is the Hour? (L-3111)

قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ 10 ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ 11 يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ 12 يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ 13 ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ 14 |

10. Qutilal-kharraasuun. 11. ‘Allaziina hum fii gamratin- saahuun. 12. Yas-'aluuna ‘ayyaana Yawmud-Diin. 13. Yawma hum 'alan-Naari yufta-nuun. 14. Zuuquu
fitnatakum. Haazal-lazii kuntum
bihii tasta'-jiluun. |

10. Accursed
be the conjecturers 11. Who
are careless in an abyss! 12. They
ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 13. (It
is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 14. (And
it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which you inflicted). This is
what you sought to hasten. |
Infidels of Makkah used to ascribe plurality to Allaah Almighty against His Unity and adore the idols instead of His worship. They had come to stand-still on their point of view so much that they appointed their men on watching points of their Township, so that they might prevent those foreigners who had to meet the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and listen to his Sayings.
It is commanded: These people have forgotten the true and useful
things due to being entangled in their false principles and baseless matters.
When the Day of Resurrection is reminded to them, they laugh and say: When is the Day of Recompense? They are very careless
and hoarding eternal torment and pain for the pleasures and luxuries of a few
days of the world. Say to them: Listen! It will be the Day when you will be
tormented over the Fire. You will burn in it badly and cry with pain. The
angels (peace be upon them) will say: This is punishment of your wicked deeds
and retribution of your depravities. This is the torment for which you were
impatient in the world and say carelessly, “Why does it not come at the spot if
it has to come?”
