28. Then
he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! And gave him tidings of
(the birth of) a wise son. 29. Then
his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren
old woman! 30. They
said: Even so says your Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. |
It is commanded: When the guests did not take meal while they were said to eat, then Abraham (peace be upon him) feared in his heart from them. They were angels (peace be upon them), sent by Allaah Almighty in the form of human beings. They said: Don’t fear us; we have brought good news for you. You will have a son who will be very smart and knowledgeable.
Wife of Abraham (peace be upon him), who was standing in a
corner and hearing their conversation, came out crying, struck her face as usually the women do when they are surprised and
said: I am a barren old woman. How can a son be born from me? The angels (peace
be upon them) said, "We do not say these
ourselves. This has been said by Allaah Almighty Who is your Lord. Only
He is Aware of His Wisdom. Everything has been happening in accordance with His
Wisdom. Indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing.
