Introduction of the Chapter “The Event” (L-3170)
This is fifty-sixth Chapter of Holy Qur’an according to order. It was sent down during initial days of Islam in Makkah. It contains three Sections. The mankind has been informed in it concerning the circumstances of the Day of Resurrection that on that Day, the earth will be shaken with a shock, the hills will be grounded to powder and will become a scattered dust. The human beings will be separated in three groups:
· Those who will be on right hand. They will be ordinary people of heaven, sitting on higher coaches below the shady trees of fruits. Underneath; the springs will be flowing around them. Modest virgins will be along with them in the form of wives of the same age.
· Those who will be on left hand. They will be the people who will go to hell. They will be in worst condition in the environment of hottest wind, boiling water for drinking, layers of smoke all around. They will be such people who were very rich and honorable in the world, who remained involved always in big sins, and who did not have belief in the Day of Resurrection. So they will be punished due to their evil deeds.
· Especial great people. Those who believed in Allaah and admitted immediately that His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was true. Many of them will be those who passed away in the Past and some will be from them who came after them. They will be sitting on lined couches, reclining therein face to face, there immortal youths with precious bowls and ewers for serving them will be waiting for them. They will hear neither vain speaking nor recrimination. They will hear the word “Peace!” everywhere. Beautiful and chaste women will be provided to them.
After that it is commanded: O people! Why do you not believe in
your Creator? He produced you from one emitted semen drop. Then He determined
death for you, and after death He will bring you back to life again. Know Him
by observing the Portents of His Omnipotence. He is Who produces grain from the
crop, provides sweet water for drinking, brought out fire from trees; from
which you reap advantage. Remember the Fire of the Hell by looking the heat of
the fire of your world. O slaves of Allaah! We swear that this is a
Great Book, from which only those people reap advantage who are righteous and
modest. Allaah Almighty has sent it down. Therefore, you must believe in
it and obey the Commands mentioned in it; otherwise you will be entangled in
any great calamity. Praise and glory be to Allaah Almighty.
