Behaviour with Jesus (L-3252)

وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِى مِنۢ بَعْدِى ٱسْمُهُۥٓ أَحْمَدُ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ 6 |

6. Wa
iz qaala 'Iisabnu- Maryama yaa-Banii
‘Israaa-'iila ‘innii RasuulUllaahi ‘ilatkum –musad-diqal-limaa bayna
yadayya minat-Tawraati wa
Mubash-shiram- bi-Rasuuliny-ya’-tii mim-
ba'-dis-muhuuu “‘AHMAD”. falammaa
jaaa-'ahum bil-Bayyinaati qaaluu
Haazaa Sihrum-mubiin. |

6. And
when Jesus son of Mary said: O Children of Israel! Lo! I am the messenger of
Allah unto you, confirming that which was (revealed) before me in the Torah,
and bringing good tidings of a messenger who comes after me, whose name is
the Praised One. Yet when he has come unto them with clear proofs, they say:
This is mere magic. |
After describing the behaviour of the Jews with Moses (peace be upon him), now their behaviour with Jesus (peace be upon him) is being narrated. Jesus (peace be upon him) said to them: O Children of Israel: I am a Messenger of Allaah, sent by Him to you. I confirm and believe in the truth of Torah, which was sent toward Moses (peace be upon him) before me. And I have brought good tidings of a Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), who will come after me. He will be the last Messenger of the lineage of the Messengers (peace be upon them). His name will be Ahmad (More or Most Praiseworthy). You must obey him when he will come. It will be better in favour of you if you will follow him step by step.
But when he (grace, glory, blessings and peace
be upon him) came to them with clear evidences, then the Jews gripped up their
loins to oppose him, whereas they had known him well that he was the Last
Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), good tidings
concerning whom was given by Jesus (peace be upon him). Those
people used to boast themselves before his arrival, “We shall finish the
mischievous people along with him when the Last Messenger will come”. But after
his arrival they forgot their verbal talks, and that part of their Holy Book;
in which the good tidings was mentioned; they concealed intentionally. Then
they began to say: Impression of your Sayings
and Signs is obvious like magic.
