Acceptance of sin (L-3301)

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِىٓ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ 10 فَٱعْتَرَفُوا۟ بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًا لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ 11 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَيْبِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ 12 وَأَسِرُّوا۟ قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ ٱجْهَرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ 13 أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ 14 |

10. Wa qaaluu law kunnaa nasma-'u ‘aw na'-qilu maa kunnaa fiii ‘As-haabis-sa-'iir. 11. Fa'-tarafuu bi-zambihim. Fasuh-qal-li-‘As-haabis-Sa-'iir. 12. ‘Innal-laziina yakh-shawna Rabbahum- bil-gaybi lahum- Magfiratunw-wa ‘Ajrun-kabiir. 13. Wa ‘asirruu qawlakum ‘awij-haruu bih. ‘Innahuu 'Aliimum-bizaatis-suduur. 14. ‘Alaa
ya'-lamu man khalaq.

10. And
they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the
dwellers in the flames. 11. So
they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in
the flames. 12. Lo!
Those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great
reward. 13. And
keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in
the breasts (of men). 14. Should
He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. |
In this verse, sorrow and regret of the hellish people have been manifested. It is commanded: At the time of replying to the keepers of the Hell, they will say also: Alas! We did not care. We lost our wits, otherwise if we had paid attention to the Sayings of the Prophets (peace be upon them) and meditated, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze.
After that it is commanded: They will admit their sins after looking the Hell. At last they will come to know that disobedience of the Prophets (peace be upon them) in the world was the greatest sin, due to which they will be from the companions of the Blaze. But their belief during the life after death will be useless for them. And it will be said to the people of the Hell: Be repelled because you are accursed.
Then it is commanded: Those who used to fear
their Lord Unseen; will have forgiveness and great reward. After that the
people have been warned: Allaah Almighty is Knowing of that within the
breasts, whether you conceal your speech or publicise it. Does He, Who created,
not know, while it is His Attribute that He is the Subtile, the Acquainted of
every apparent and unapparent thing?
