The disobedient will be seized (L-3285)
|
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ عَتَتْ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهِۦ فَحَاسَبْنَٰهَا حِسَابًا شَدِيدًا وَعَذَّبْنَٰهَا عَذَابًا نُّكْرًا 8 فَذَاقَتْ وَبَالَ أَمْرِهَا وَكَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ أَمْرِهَا خُسْرًا 9 أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ يَٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ 10a |

8. Wa ka-‘ayyim-min qaryatin 'atat 'an ‘Amri Rabbihaa wa Rusulihii fa-haasab-Naahaa hisaaban shadiidanw-wa 'azzab-Naahaa 'Azaaban-nukraa. 9. Fazaaqat wabaala ‘amrihaa wa kaana 'Aaqibatu ‘amrihaa khusraa. 10a. ‘A-'addAllaahu lahum
'Azaaban shadiidan fattaqUllaaha yaaa-‘ulil-‘albaabil-laziina ‘aammanuu. |

8. And
how many a community revolted against the ordinance of its Lord and His
messengers, and We called it to a stern account and punished it with dire
punishment, 9. So
that it tasted the ill-effects of its conduct, and the consequence of its
conduct was loss. 10a. Allah
has prepared for them stern punishment; so keep your duty to Allah, O men of
understanding! O you who believe! |
Stress is being laid on abiding by the Commandments (according to the Religious Laws of Islam), particularly to follow the instructions concerning your behaviour with the women.
It is commanded: During old times, many were such Townships, the people of which ignored the Commands of Allaah Almighty, whereas they had been prospering under His care because He was their Lord. It was the result of their ungratefulness that Allaah Almighty called them to a stern account. When their sins were proved; then He punished them even in this world with dire punishment. And they were ruined very badly. Moreover, the torment of the Doomsday is also ready for them. Their worldly punishment was so much severe that no one would have seen or heard. For every kind of wrongdoers was a separate punishment. They found bad result of God’s disobedience, so they had to suffer entire loss. After that, they will have to experience the Doom of the Day of Resurrection, which will be more severe than the punishment of this world.
O you people of understanding who
have believed! Fear Allaah Almighty every time after hearing the
circumstances of disobedient people, so that lest you err, due to which the
disaster of Allaah Almighty come upon you. We have sent this Qur’an
for your guidance.
