أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُۥ بَل لَّجُّوا۟ فِى عُتُوٍّ وَنُفُورٍ 21 أَفَمَن يَمْشِى مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦٓ أَهْدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمْشِى سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ 22 قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ 23 |

21. ‘Amman haazal-lazii yarzuqukum ‘in ‘amsaka Rizqah. Bal-lajjuu fii 'utuwwinw-wa nufuur. 22. ‘Afamany-yamshii mukibban 'alaa wajhihiii ‘ahdaaa ‘ammany-yamshii sa-wiyyan 'alaa Siraatim-Mustaqiim. 23. Qul Huwal-lazii ‘ansha-‘akum wa
ja-'ala lakumus-sam-'a wal-‘absaara wal-‘af-'idah. Qaliilam-maa tash-kuruun. |

21. Or
who is he that will provide for you if He should withhold His providence?
Nay, but they are set in pride and frowardness. 22. Is
he who goes groping on his face more rightly guided, or he who walks upright
on a straight road? 23. Say
(unto them, O Muhammad): He it is Who gave you being, and has assigned unto
you ears and eyes and hearts. Small thanks give you! |
It is being commanded: Did you think also that who is it that can provide for you if Allaah Almighty withhold provision? Can your followers, your self-made gods, your friends or supporters give you something? It is your cheating, that is to say, considering oneself superior to others or running away from the Truth, which teaches you to persist, otherwise your heart gives evidence that there is no one except Allaah Almighty who may give something.
Then it is commanded: Only that can reach the destination who
walks upright the Straight Path towards his object. How can he get success who
walks fallen on his face and goes astray? O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon him): It is Allaah
Almighty Who has produced you, made for you hearing, vision and hearts. These
are such three things, on which you depend for doing your all works, but you do
not use them properly. There are a few people from you who are grateful to Allaah
Almighty after knowing Him.
