Introduction of “The Pen” (L-3308)
Chapter “QALAM” – (The Pen) - 68
According to order, this is sixty-eighth Chapter of Holy Qur’an. It was revealed in the starting days of stay at Makkah as Muslims. It has two Sections. When Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) said to the people: I am a Messenger of Allaah Almighty. I have been commanded that I should describe to you that there can be no God (Worshipped) except Allaah Almighty. These idols, of which you have been adoring, are lifeless statues of stone, which will become fuel of the Hell. And you also would be thrown into the Fire of the Hell; if you did not act upon my sayings. The people of Makkah were constant on their old customs and traditions. They did never think that any religion can be better than their religion. After hearing this new thing, they began to say: You are (Let us flee to God) a mad because you tell us such thing which did anybody never say before you and nor we heard. It is a sign that (God forbid) there is any defect in your mind.
In such circumstances, this Chapter was revealed. It was commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! Everyone has been observing your work and word. Sensible people record it and they will leave it behind, which will be saved and useful for next generations until the last day of the world. This Qur’an, which you have been reciting before them verbally, will also be written with the Pen and will be protected until the Day of Resurrection. And it will give evidence of your wisdom and prudence that by the Grace of God Almighty; you are not a madman, but you are a Leader and Guide of intelligent people. The lesson you conveyed is the best lesson. The deniers will come to know very soon including you that they themselves were madmen and you were wise and prudent. It is Allaah Almighty Who shows the Straight Path and He will judge that “who said right and who said wrong”. Don’t care them who consider that you tell a lie. We describe you that who go astray. Being rich or having more sons is not the sign that their possessor is good and his saying is acceptable. Wealth is not of any one. Its possession is changed from time to time. We inform you concerning a rich family that what did happen with the members of that family due to their wrong deeds and misunderstanding. Within a few moments, their entire wealth was destroyed and they remained repented.
Listen! The actual thing is “remaining away from evil thoughts
and abstaining from wicked deeds due to fear of Allaah Almighty”. Great
rewards will be given to such people in the life after death, and they will
dwell perpetually in rest and peace. You must never consider that good and bad
people can be equal. Reward is for good people and punishment is for bad
people. They think wrong and commit sins. They do not have any proof that they
are right. On the Day of Resurrection, when the Truth will be disclosed, their
eyes also will be opened. Have patience now on their misbehaviour and act upon
the Commands of Allaah Almighty wholeheartedly. The end of goodness is
always good.
