8. Therefor
obey not you the rejecters 9. Who
would have had you compromise, that they may compromise. 10. Neither
obey you each feeble oath-monger, 11. Detractor,
spreader abroad of slanders, 12. Hinderer
of the good, transgressor, malefactor 13. Greedy
therewithal, intrusive. 14. It
is because he is possessed of wealth and children 15. That,
when Our revelations are recited unto him, he says: Mere fables of the men of
old. 16. We
shall brand him on the nose. |
It is commanded: O Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): It is their condition that they say concerning a person, who speaks the truth, that he is a madman. So you must not obey such deniers. They wish that you should hide the truth for the sake of them and talk false, then they will hear to you, because falsehood has been included in their nature. They are so much immoral that they swear falsely, even then the people do not put trust in them. They reproach in every matter, backbite against every righteous, do not let others do good works, transgress the religious limits and commit the sins openly. They are cruel, ignominious and disgraced as well as they use harsh words in their conversation too. They behave with boastfulness because they are possessors of wealth and children. When verses of Holy Qur’an are recited before them, they say: These are legends of former people.
Such people will be punished severely and We shall brand them upon the snout. All these evils
were in a person, named “Waliid bin Mughiirah”, who was a leader of the Qureish.
This verse indicates towards him but Command is common, so that you must not
attend to such people.
