23. And
they have said: Forsake not your gods. Forsake not Wadd, nor Suwa',
nor Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr. 24. And
they have led many astray, and You increase the wrong-doers in naught save
error. 25. Because
of their sins they were drowned, then made to enter a Fire. And they found
they had no helpers in place of Allah. 26. And
Noah said: My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers in the land. |
Noah (peace be upon him) has been praying in the Court of Allaah Almighty: These people plot a mighty plot every time that they should never leave their gods (whose names were Wadd, Suwa, Yaghuth, Ya`uq and Nasr). These were their big idols of which they used to adore. Usually the idolaters give particular names to their idols, as it is observed in the nonsense talking of the Grecians etc. and as these are traditions among the followers of Hindu religion.
He (peace be upon him) requested: In this way,
they already have misled many people. O my Lord! Do not increase the wrongdoers
except in error, so that they may be destroyed by the disaster immediately. It
was said because Noah (peace be upon him) had entirely been hopeless that they
would ever believe. At last such time reached when they were drowned in the
water-storm due to their sins and wicked deeds, and put into the Fire for
burning after death. They found not for themselves besides Allaah
Almighty any helpers. Noah (peace be upon him) supplicated, "My Lord, do
not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant.
