What has happened with the disbelievers (L-3332)

فَمَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ 36  عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ 37  أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍ 38  كَلَّآ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ 39  فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ 40 عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ 41

36.  Famaa-lil-laziina  kafaruu  qibalaka  muhti-‘iin. 37.  'Anil-yamiini  wa  'anish-shimaali  'iziin. 38.  ‘A-yatma-'u  kullum-ri-'im- minhum  ‘any-yud-khala  Jannata  Na-'iim. 39.  Kallaaa.  ‘Innaa  khalaq-Naahum-mimmaa  ya'-lamuun. 40.  Falaaa  ‘Uqsimu  bi-Rabbil-Mashaariqi  wal-Magaaribi  ‘innaa  la-Qaadiruun. 41.  'Alaaa  ‘an-nubaddila  khayram-minhum  wa  maa  Nahnu  bi-masbuuqiin.

36. What ails those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward you (O Muhammad), open-eyed, 37. On the right and on the left, in groups? 38. Does every man among them hope to enter the Garden of Delight? 39. Nay, verily. Lo! We created them from what they know. 40. But nay! I swear by the Lord of the rising-places and the setting-places of the planets that We verily are Able 41. To replace them by (others) better than them. And we are not to be outrun.

It is commanded: We already have described the form of mankind’s salvation. Now about the condition of the disbelievers is being narrated. Their many separate gangs come to you {O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} for opposing and laughing at you. Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure without belief and doing righteous works? It cannot be at all! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know. Then how can be there any irregularity? Mean spiritedness and cowardice is included in the creation of mankind. Real spirit will be born into him by belief and doing good works. So I swear by the Lord of all risings and settings that indeed We are Able to replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone.
