Chapter “QALAM” – (The Pen) - 68 

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful) 

نٓ وَٱلْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ 1  مَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ 2  وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ 3  وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ 4  فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ 5  بِأَييِّكُمُ ٱلْمَفْتُونُ 6  إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ 7

1.  NUUN.  WAL-QALAMI  wa  maa  yasturuun. 2.  Maaa  ‘anta  bi-ni'-mati  Rabbika  bi-majnuun. 3.  Wa  ‘inna  laka la-‘Ajran  gayra  mamnuun. 4.  Wa  ‘innaka  la-'alaa  khuluqin  'aziim. 5.  Fasatubsiru  wa  yubsiruun. 6.  Bi-‘ayyikumul-maftuun. 7.  ‘Inna  Rabbaka  Huwa  ‘A'-lamu  biman  zalla  'an  Sabiilih. Wa  Huwa  ‘A'-lamu  bil-Muhtadiin.

1. Nun. By the pen and that which they write (therewith), 2. You are not, for your Lord's favour unto you, a madman. 3. And lo! yours verily will be a reward unfailing. 4. And lo! You are of a tremendous nature. 5. And you wilt see and they will see 6. Which of you is the demented. 7. Lo! Your Lord is Best Aware of him who strays from His way, and He is Best Aware of those who walk aright.

It is commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! As long as the world lasts, the Pen and the writings of the writers give evidence that special grace of Allaah Almighty is upon you. He has bestowed such knowledge and nobility to you which these unlucky people do not have. Your habits and manners are very great and you are of the best moral character. Your sense picks up every affair immediately, deeply and completely. Such kind of person can never be a madman. And indeed, for you is such uninterrupted reward which will never be over. They are madmen themselves who say to you a madman, and within a few days, you and they will come to know clearly that who from both parties of you are madmen. Allaah Almighty already knows that who has gone astray from His way and who is on the Straight Path. The people of the world will come to know also in future that who was astray and who was righteous.
