Introduction of “The Hypocrites” (L-3263)

Chapter “MUNAAFIQUUN” - (The Hypocrites) - 63

This is sixty-third Chapter in order of Holy Qur’an which was revealed during 4^th year AH in Madinah. It has two Sections. The hypocrites got ready to abuse the Muslims that year. This year was between the Battle of Uhud (3^rd AH) and the Battle of Ahzaab (5^th AH). The Chieftain of the hypocrites, AbdUllah bin Ubai was thinking that the Muslims must be expelled from Madinah and he should be her Chieftain. He used to meet the Muslims well apparently, but secretly he used to excite the people that they must trouble the Muslims, so that they leave Madinah and the hypocrites succeed.

In this Chapter, dark side of the hypocrites has been disclosed clearly that they think always about worldly wealth, honour and for producing their supporters. You must not be involved in such things, because the person who considered that only the world was everything, he went astray. After a few days he will die and leave everything here. On the Day of Resurrection he will repent that alas! I did nothing for the life after death which might be useful. He will say: Would that I am sent back again in the world and then I shall collect all such things which may be useful in the Hereafter, but his such desire will be useless because after death no one can come back to this world.

It has been described concerning the hypocrites in this Chapter: They say by their mouths that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is the Messenger of Allaah Almighty, but their hearts deny it. They are entirely liars, swear false oaths and consider that they will succeed; and that the people will consider them true and obey them. They are coward and fearful. They are confused due to fear of any sudden calamity. Their bodies are healthy but hearts are very weak, even then they boast that none is equal of them, so why should they accept Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) as their leader. These are the hypocrites whose Chieftain says to the people: Don’t give financial help to the Refugees! They will run away after being in trouble. In a journey he said: After reaching Madinah, we all honourable people will exile these low and disgraced Muslims immediately.

This is entirely nonsense. All wealth and property is in the Hand of Allaah Almighty, Who is the Possessor of honor and disgrace. He gives to whom what He desires. The Muslims have been instructed: Don’t forget Allaah Almighty due to love of wealth and children. It is the way of your success.
