Chapter “HAAAQQAH” – (The Reality) - 69
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah
from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

ٱلْحَآقَّةُ 1 مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ 2 وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ 3 كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌۢ بِٱلْقَارِعَةِ 4 فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ 5 وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ 6 سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ 7 |

1. ‘AL-HAAAQQATU. 2. Mal-Haaaqqah. 3. Wa maaa ‘adraaka ml-Haaaqqah. 4. Kazzabat Samuudu wa 'Aadum- bil-Qaari-'ah. 5. Fa-‘ammaa Samuudu fa-‘uhlikuu bit-Taagiyah. 6. Wa ‘ammaa 'Aadun fa-‘uhlikuu bi-Riihin sarsarin 'aatiyah. 7. Sakh-kharahaa 'alayhim
sab-'a layaalinw-wa samaa-niyata ‘ayyaamin
husuuman, fataral-qawma fiihaa
sar-'aa, ka-‘annahum ‘a'-jaazu
nakhlin khaawiyah. |

Reality! 2. What
is the Reality? 3. Ah,
what will convey unto you what the reality is! 4. (The
tribes of) Thamud and Aad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 5. As
for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 6. And
as for Aad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 7. Which
He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that you
might have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. |
For embracing Islam, three things are required to be accepted verbally:
1. Allaah (God) is One.
2. Muhammad is His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).
3. The Day of Resurrection is Inevitable.
The person, who accepts these three, is a Muslim. Now it is his duty that he must ask from the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): How should I dwell in the world? He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) will describe: This is the Book of Allaah Almighty. I act upon its Commandments. You must follow me. I have determined the way of following the Commands of Qur’an. Me, my companions and their followers (May Allaah be pleased with them) are Standard-Bearers of the same. Keep this Qur’an before you, meditate in its verses and understand that this is an explanation of above mentioned three matters, which you have admitted.
In this Chapter, state of the Day of Resurrection has been
described, which every Muslim affirms. It is commanded: Indeed, the Day of
Resurrection shall come. Those who disbelieved were ruined. It will break
everything into pieces. The people of Thamud rejected, so they were
destroyed by thunder and earthquake, and they will have to be entangled in the
Calamities of the same Day, which they used to deny. Before them, there were
people of ‘Aad, who chose the same way of rebellion. They were ruined by
a screaming, violent storm of wind, which Allaah Almighty imposed upon them for
seven nights and eight days in succession. They fell as if they were
hollow trunks of palm trees.
