Chapter TAGAABUN - (Mutual Disillusion) - 64

This is sixty-fourth Chapter of Holy Qur’an in order, which was revealed during the first year of Migration in Madinah. It has two Sections. It was the time when the Muslims were coming to Madinah, leaving their homes and families due to misconduct of the people of Makkah. Many people had been entangled in this trouble that their wealth, wives and children were in Makkah. On the other side their other relatives were pressurising them to leave Islam instead of leaving their houses etc. Some of them were those who were not able to carry their families along with themselves because they did not have conveyance and money for fulfilling their requirements in journey. Their children were asking that where were they going leaving the families behind. In short the Muslims had been suffering difficulties. Many people left their wives and children behind and emigrated, but some were thinking so far. In such circumstances this Chapter was revealed and made Islam famous. By describing the condition of difficulties after death, they were frightened.

It was commanded: Everything of the heavens and the earth has been glorifying Allaah Almighty. It is the reality that He is the Sovereign of the entire world and has all excellences. He is Who created the mankind. Some of the human beings believed in Him and some disbelieved entirely. Surprisingly, do the disbelievers not know the state of those people who were before them? They suffered great afflictions in the world due to denying Allaah Almighty, whereas they will have to undergo still the torment of the Doomsday. Prophets (peace be upon them) of Allaah Almighty came to them and produced clear signs of their Prophet-hood, but they said: How can we accept him a Guide for us who is a mankind like us. So they denied Allaah Almighty. He did not care. They were ruined within a moment.

These disbelievers say that the Hour will never come. Say to them: I swear of my Lord! The Day of Resurrection shall come and you will have to be punished due to your wicked deeds. If you desire your betterment, believe in Allaah Almighty, His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and clear verses of Holy Qur’an, otherwise you will be great losers on the Day of Judgment. On that Day, the righteous people will go to Paradise, but the evildoers will be thrown into the Hell.

O mankind! Allaah is Who sends afflictions. The believers understand its object but the disbelievers wander. Behold! Your wealth and children can be your enemies. Don’t leave any good work due to them. Those are for your trial. Spend your wealth on others for the cause of Allaah Almighty and consider that you have been lending Him, Who is a Great Beneficent and He will return your loan. In addition, he will give you more than enough by His Grace.
